Superior Engineering by the User

Jul 30, 2021 | Trench Boxes

The fact that Kundel trench safety equipment was designed and engineered by those who actually used the equipment has served the industry in ways the Kundel family never thought possible. Kundel Industries was born from Kundel Construction and they have continued to serve construction and manufacturing companies throughout the globe for almost 30 years with superior engineering. One company in particular is Elkan Inc in Watford City, North Dakota. Like Kundel, Elkan Inc is family owned and operated and has been in operation since 2007. What started out as a one truck, self serve water depot on the honor system, has now grown to a state-of-the-art water management system that ties together multiple water sources, reservoirs, and transmission pipelines to deliver fresh water to their customers.

Superior engineering is what sets Kundel apart from the competition. According to their lead operator, who has over 30 years’ experience, says the lighter weight makes the boxes easier to move and pull. “Some of the competitors are overweight and you need a bigger machine. The adjustability is great”. When we asked him about the design of the box, he said “the shelves in the side give the workers places to put their tools”. The best part of that is the “shelves” as he put it are a byproduct of the design. We bend and fold the metal in order to add strength without adding extra unwanted weight. This feature provides “shelves” on the inside of the box.

As any company will tell you repeat business is the best business. Kundel has been the go-to provider for trench safety equipment for Elkan for a very long time. Jeff Conlogue says “We’ve had a great experience with the entire Kundel team.  They made the entire process from determining the correct product for our project to providing training to the team extremely easy.  The staff was extremely helpful and understanding of our needs”. We do not take this compliment lightly and it helps us continue to provide not only the absolute best product, but the best customer service. We want you to feel confident in your purchase and to know that your business is greatly appreciated. From our family to your family, thank you for all you do to keep America moving forward. Stay safe.
